My name is Frances Farmer. I am an 18 year old and I am currently a sophomore in college. I plan to major in a degree I created by combining communications and business. I believe these are the tools I will need to achieve my dream of becoming a writer. This blog will also prepare me for a future in writing and advertising my writing. I figure the best way to learn is hands-on, so here I am!
I plan to transition to make this blog solely about stress relief because it is a big part of my life. Stress is everywhere. There’s no escaping it. The only thing you can change is the way you react to it. Personally, I do not handle stress well and have even developed a disorder in reaction to it. Trichotillomania is the almost irresistible urge to pull out one’s own hair and it has been my response to stress for about 7 years now. It is a touchy subject, but I believe I can overcome it. Not only will I overcome my disorder, but I will help others along the way get past their unhealthy reactions to stress. Handling stress isn’t something that is really openly discussed and taught in American society; however, I plan to change this demographic one post at a time.
I want to share the stress relievers and modes of thought I use with anyone who needs them. Yoga has been an incredible addition to my life and has greatly reduced my stress. As a result, I am a calmer person overall. Meditation has also helped me control any negative responses to stress and now I stop and think before I react in any situation. Of course, I also rely heavily on writing to express myself and lower my stress level. My source of stress relievers is constantly growing since I’m always on the lookout for more.
